Does increased structure in a course help students?

Nancy Ludden, our resident instructional designer, shared this article with me about how structure in a course influences the outcomes of minority and first-generation students. I’m always looking for interventions that cost me little time but have an impact on my students, and I think the conclusions these authors draw point in that direction.
