We have a new D2L course “shell” that can save you development time and embodies generally accepted design practices for online learning.
Developed with input from faculty, the idea is to copy the Online Essentials D2L course shell and all of its components into your course, and start filling the course shell with your content. This will give you a typical course structure, discussions, drop boxes, grade book, quizzes and more – all ready for you to adapt to your needs.
If you’re interested in using the course shell, please contact me. Or, you can “Self-register” in D2L (on your “my home” page), and I’ll provide you with access to the shell soon after that. I’d be happy to meet with you and introduce the course shell, show you what’s in it, and give you help on how to copy and edit it to “make it your own” online course.
