What you can do to help students succeed right now.

– Put your textbooks on reserve at our Library. It takes 30 seconds to fill out the reserve slip and will make you feel great.

– Use any of these “26 Strategies for Success in Your Classroom” in the first four weeks  of class. (Hat tip to Michael Kirch)

– Make the first thing you do when you start your professional day student centered. Boot up the computer and answer a student email, comment on a D2L discussion board, review your lesson plan. Skip the news sites, your dean’s email (gasp), and social networks. Attention is the most powerful currency of our day: spends yours on students first.

– Take a breadth and reflect on how important what you do is.
